I was thrown into a place that is not so very familiar to me ( I just call it "outside my comfort zone. "). This place adds up to all the places I have visited and aside from its far location starting from which I reside, this place possesses some amazing hot spots worth visiting (if your passion is to travel) . I was amaze with the beautiful and fascinating views in this place that it become hard for me to decide whether to accept the offer or find a way to reject it. Since I have no choice to but to stay I just think hard and look forward on the things that will happen to me in this unfamiliar, new and alien place. So I ask myself, what should I do and my right brain says "Stay! and take this opportunity to explore and discover new things, you might even find here the girl of your dream. LOL!" and my left brain is says "It's an opportunity to earn some money and besides you are still young!", The result is, I have decided to follow both sides of my brain.
I been living here for about 6months in a 900 per month boarding house ,because I was assigned here by my very considerate company and i have no choice but to follow because of my contract. But instead of complaining and trying to reason out why i must not be in this place, I just look around and I try to find something that will make me forget the things that happened and just be thankful about it. This is still a blessing and not all have this kind of opportunity.
I am now at Tanay, Rizal Philippines and become a witness of a crime called Tanay Hane Festival in which all of its cohorts are suspects for making the people amaze and surprised with its overwhelming presentations. It is an annual festival and according to a local it was organized to revive its beauty after the devastating effect of Typhoon Ondoy that give this place a tragic memory, But still that tragedy didn't stop them to construct whatever that was damaged. (physically, mentally and emotionally).
The first thing that I have spotted in the festival is the Rock Balancing,(see the those kids? they might be our future engineers). I saw many kids and also grown up trying their best to balance some rocks as high as they can, some succeeded and some failed (like me :D). I'm just confused about something like is that really rock balancing or rock piling? or maybe what i have done when i try it out is what will be known as rock piling?. Well they call it rock balancing because you balance the rock on the other and it take some concentration and skills and keen selection of rocks to have your masterpiece. (I will try it again some other time. very challenging.)
These are the real Rock Balancing that really rocks!
Well moving on to the programme of the festival.
Well moving on to the programme of the festival.
Their is also street dancing competition in which all participants are schools probably located at Tanay, Rizal, I don't actually know those schools or academies are, but they certainly did a good job on trying to win and you can see on their faces that they are enjoying it. I enjoyed watching them besides the strong heat which darken my skin.
I also spotted some human brooms (look in the photos). Their group is one of the participants in the street dance, they have a very good outfits and their band is really rocking the park out (park is the venue of the event). I don't know if they are the champion of the competition because my feet moved me to another location called the San Ildefonso Church or Tanay Church before the winner was announced.
This is another landmark in Tanay, Rizal (San Ildefonso Church). Something like the Manila,Cathedral but it features some uniqueness and historical value,it has antique, old and classic appearance (smaller than Manila Cathedral). It also has an epic history and here are some of it.(copied and pasted XD).
Built in 1778, the church was named after the Archbishop Ildefonso of Toledo, Spain, who was consecrated during the year 657 AD; revered for his spiritual vitality and deep writings contained in “ The Book of the Virginity of Maria”. Behind the heavy stone edifice decorated with Hispanic, archetype windows and stone sculpture of its saint, are legends that found its way to this generation. Tradition has it that an image of theLady of the Immaculate Conception, was found among the belongings of our fleeing forefathers on the onset of the Spanish Invasion in 1573; the same image found among the remnants from the fire that gutted the first church in 1620- a lone survivor! During the Chinese Uprising in 1639, Father Geronimo de Frias hid it in the fields but was later on found by the Chinese rebel who tried to destroy the image, instead to themselves befell violent death. This event took place on the 24 th of February, 1640; hence the annual date for the towns fiesta in honor of its second Patron Saint- The Immaculate Concepcion.
The views are very outstanding and fascinating, some may say that I can only say this because it was my first time here in Rizal but I say. ("It's ok!" ). Well the fact is that, this place is worth visiting for a person like me.(An Explorer and a Thrill seeker and my passion is to travel to different place as long as I have some money to pay the fare). And of course! I spotted a monument of a very great celebrity that make Rizal as Rizal.
Located also in the park is the monument of Dr. José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonzo Realonda. Well I think of course to recognize the National Hero of the Philippines. One thing that keep me wondering is the photo below. What is Godzilla doing in Tanay?! (Anong kinalaman ni GodZilla sa Tanay!). XD
This end my blog about Tanay,Hane Festival,A day of exploration. I know that I will capture more photos in the future and also thank you for stopping by and I hope you've enjoy your stay.
